Each summer I teach intro and advanced alternative photographic process at the workshops listed below. In these workshops we essentially go cover-to-cover on my book, The Book of Alternative Photographic Processes: Second Edition, and have a huge amount of fun. I teach intro and advanced workshops at The Maine Media Workshops, and the Santa Fe Workshops, every summer. The first week of the MMW, and Santa Fe, are introductions to a host of techniques including: cyanotype, kallitype, van dyke, albumen, platinum and palladium, argyrotype, and Ziatype, and how to make simplified digital contact negatives for printing in the sun or UV box.

I also run Advanced Alternative Process Workshops where artists, photographers, alumni of my other workshops, and new / experienced students, can work on specific processes and portfolio development. This class is also a good refresher as I always re-demonstrate processes on demand. These workshops generally include more advanced process work in wet plate collodion, carbon, and calotype.

Please check the workshops listed for information regarding their ambitious and excellent offerings. I often conduct workshops at The Center for Photography at Woodstock (an intensive 2 day workshop) and at The Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass, CO.
